I think we are all very familiar with Dr Suess. We have grown up with his fanciful tales of elephants and green eggs and grinches. But I just now realized the stories had a much greater impact on me. I bet others have noticed, but I just noticed that there are a few stories that helped shape who I am.
Perhaps the stories fit me, perhaps I fit the stories. However, out of my three favorites, the two that I just realized are a part of me are the Lorax and the Sneetches.
The Lorax taught me environmentalism. The Sneetches taught me anti-discrimination. wow...

(And BTW, the third story "What Was I Scared Of" probably taught me something too...but not nearly as profound.)
